Volvo Working on a Diesel Hybrid C30

Volvo is apparently working on a plug-in hybrid Diesel. Which is pretty sweet for our folks who are lucky enough to have access to biodiesel. No word yet on a time frame for market availability, but hey, at least they're working on it.
The Mini Power Minder, a two port powerstrip has a nifty feature. You plug your always-on computer to the top plug and connect your Computer to it via USB. Then when you power you computer on and off, the device will toggle the bottom power port on and off with it. If you hook a standard powerstrip to the bottom port, you can put all your power hungry computer devices to sleep when they're not in use. It's not a bad little gadget for it's $14.99 price tag and it's good for the environment too.
YouTube.com has a neat little clip via the Discovery Channel on a new solar lighting technology being developed for release in early 2007. The installation consists of a mirrored-dish solar collector connected to fiber optic cables which distribute the light to the interiors of the buildings. The resulting light is then paired with fluorescent lights for when the sun isn't shining.
A small micro-brewery in Greenland is producing a beer with some of the purest water available. The water comes from the melting greenland ice cap and is said to be completely free of contaminants and at least 2,000 years old.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology is the way of the future for sure, with the only generated emissions being 100% water.
