GE building worlds largest solar plant

General Electric began working on an 11 Megawatt solar power plant in Portugal. The plant will consist of 150 acres of solar panels that will come online in 2007.

Dwarfing this project though is another planned solar station [Buzzle] also in Portugal. If built, it will be 620 acres and produce 116 Megawatts of power. I've never been to Portugal but apparently it's a very sunny place, and a prime location for solar power plants.
